I have a Sony Umatic V9000 and it was working just fine and then i had the incredible idea of cleaning the tape head due to the fact i learned about sticky tape shedding. I however didnt do my research before and i did all the things you are not suppose to do when cleaning a tape head. I used a cotton swab with isoprobale alcohol and scrubbed it good. Im ashamed after i found out what i did, especially now cause all im getting is a static snow screen. Audio is coming in fine.

I bought proper tape cleaning swabs online and tried correcting my mistakes to no avail. I also tried cleaning all the rollers and tape guides and still nothing.

im coming to you guys for guidance which i should have done in the first place.
Is all lost here or is there something i can do to remedy the situation?
