Have this combo unit and don't want to throw in the towel as the HDMI port is dead useful.
When plugged in through the HDMI or regular A/V cables, the picture is complete mess (completely black with static and the occasional ghost image) and sound is in and out.
Have tried through a digital and CRT TV.
Have carefully cleaned everything the tape touches and manually adjusted the tracking with the case opened. The DVD side works perfectly.
Is there something I am missing? Any help or advise would be completely appreciated!
