Hi,

I've been using a VHS/DVD recorder to transfer some tapes and I've got this strange banding that's come onto the picture - diagonal dotted lines that move up and down the picture.

Has anyone encountered anything like this before - and specifically how to stop it?

Thanks!

That's not banding... looks like some sort of interlace problem... NTSC/PAL problem ?
only with moving objects in the picture ?
Could also be interference of other electronic devices near the VCR/capture equipment,
bad cables,
better give more info on this...

I'm seeing black & white dots in the screenshots. Maybe tracking is slightly off?

But they may be recorded into the signal if this is a TV recording.
