I have 4 computers in my house, none of them suitable for video transfer. The first is a pentium 2 laptop running win98se, the second is a dell dimension 2400 (with intel celeron
) running Windows XP, the third is a dell lattitude. Forgot the exact model, but it is duel core and running Windows 7. The fourth is an Acer Aspire laptop with Windows 7 64-bit (if you couldn't tell, all the other computers were 32-bit).
I was curious as to what is the best hardware setup. I know I need the following...
Windows XP SP3 or unofficial SP4/Windows Server 2003 R2/Windows POSReady 2009
motherboard with agp (and maybe pci)
intel pentium 4 processor
firewire support (for DV tape)
ati all-in-wonder (preferably a model mentioned in the forums as recommended)
(optional) HDD with lots of GB space
Do you guys have any advice on the cheapest way to get a computer with all my requirements? Also, recommendations for a place to sell my less desireable computers, especially the dell dimension 2400 (the most worthless of the bunch)?
