Gday again all,

I have received my ES15. I only have a composite-out VCR. What is the recommendation for connection from the ES15 to the capture card? Should I just use composite, or would the video be better using SVHS between the ES15 and the card? I have a Phillips SAA713X card.

Thanks a lot, Al

S-Video is better.

It depends on which one has better comb filter the ES15 or the capture card, I'm afraid that this is something that you have to try and compare the results or post samples of the two here.

Thanks, I'll do some more experiments.

Latreche, what format would you need to check the comb filter in each? A lossless capture or will MP4 do? Or is it just a "visual" check?

You can see it with connecting directly to the TV or in the lossless file. If you are not sure what you are looking for post short lossless samples here and the members will examine them.
