I am currently using ATI MMC 8.9 and would like help in determining if I would benefit in changing to your stated preference for MMC 8.7 or MMC 9.0 (latest version is 9.02 issued 8/16/04.)

What are the advantages/disadvantages of one over the others? - Triassical

ATI MMC 8.7 is most stable. ATI MMC 9.0 has 704x480 MPEG2 resolutions, as well as improved MPEG4 abilities. If you are just after MPEG-2 video, any ATI MMC 8.x or 9.x is generally fine. The software is all the same, some just work better on some computers/cards than others.

It's sort of like a 1999 car/truck (any make/model) vs a 2000 model. Did a lot of things change? Not really. Mostly cosmetic, and a tweak here and there. And of course, a potential new minor problem here and there.

I agree. I was using the 8.5 version and i was getting a lot of dropped frame. LS suggested I move up to 8.7. Case solved and Im happy with all my captures.
