VHS-C adapter recomendation?

Recently bought a VHS-C adapter off of amazon.

Wasn't expecting anything great but it worked initially just fine on the vcr I had on hand at the time I got it. When using my capture VCR it works fine but it jams up when it ejects. I have to unscrew the top cover of the vcr and force it out each time. Not what I want to be doing even if it does capture and work well.

Any suggestions on a better adapter. May just need to shave off a certain corner of the adapter of wherever is getting caught.

I have recently tired two Hama ones (I'm in the UK) and they have both had go to back, tape-brakes randomly engaging, horrendous noise from all decks and lacing issues.

I also have a Panasonic VQL7913-1 which came with some Panasonic ex-studio equipment I bought which weighs considerably more and works perfectly in any machine I try it in.

Better transfer/spool the VHS-C tape out the casing, over to a regular VHS cassette housing, tape will transport better that way.
The leader tape(s) are wedged into the spines, you can push out the wedge, and change out the spindles, you never need to touch the actual tape, and no need to make new slices in the tape.

The recommended ones are battery operated and have a metal base, made by Matsushita (both JVC and Panasonic brands). There a bunch of actual model numbers. Understand that some VCR's are also better than others at not eating tapes, even with the good adapters. Search this forum for the many posts regarding transferring VHS-C tapes and read up a bit to get up to speed.

Then try this search on eBay. It brings up mostly the recommended motorized VHS-C adapters:

"(panasonic, jvc) motorized vhs-c cassette adapter"

Of course eBay is a bit of a gamble so pick one that looks good and is from a seller you (somehow) trust.

Yes, nowadays a VHS-C adapter is a bit of a gamble anyway, and a VHS-C adapter will put more wear and tear on both tape and vcr, that's why i advise to transplant the tape to a regular VHS cassette housing.

There is a bit more tension on the adapted -C tapes. That's a main reason that I believe some decks eat tapes more than others, and are not liking the tension. Transport tolerances become even more important.

VHS-C is really about deck + adapter, not either/or.

VHS clamshell respool is about as fun as a dental teeth cleaning (and FYI, 10 -C tapes is like 10 dentist visits), so I'd opt to just buy the better deck and adapter.

You have to be a bit careful still, there is a panasonic-branded version of the konig adapter you linked out there. You preferably want one of the older beefy adapters that came with camcorders, e.g JVC C-P6U, JVC C-P7U, Panasonic VW-TCA7 adapter or similar. (There are a bunch of of badge-engineered versions of those ones as well, like Philips, Nordmente and others.)

I've used the konig ones without much issue but they're not as well built, and I found them to sometimes fail to fully load up after putting in the tape.

Searching by specific model number(s) that knowledgeable people know work would be the preferred option. The problem is that those specific numbers are scattered all over this site rather than being in a single place. We now have at least 3 specific numbers to search for!

I noticed some look-alikes came up using my search that were in packaging that was similar to some that appeared to be Panasonic branded. I'd definitely stay away from those.

This must be a genuine Panasonic adapter... Surely! Apart from the "fine" print...

This one weighs 235gm with battery and no tape and no box. Out of interest, how much does the real Panasonic adapter weigh?
