I'm planning on picking up an ES10 or ES15 to assist with tearing/TBCish duties for digitizing family recordings. These VHSes were recorded in the late 80s to early 90s if that makes a difference. I have a Sony and a Sharp VCR, will likely use the Sharp as it tracks better (despite having slightly worse picture quality) than the Sony.
Yes, I get it, neither is a real TBC. But 1) dedicated TBC units are completely unavailable 2) the few recommended SVHS VCRs with TBC built in are going for exorbitant prices on ebay 3) months of local hunting has gotten me nowhere
As long as other family can watch without getting a headache, that's pretty much all I'm asking for at this point.
