I've got a few VHS tapes that I need to digitize for viewing on a computer.
My workflow is quite good (according to the information gleaned from this site!).
JVC HR-S9900U > s-video to TBC-1000 > s-video to Pinnacle USB-710 > Computer
I've recorded the tapes using
VirtualDub (no editing or restoration needed) and now have the .avi files ready for encoding.
Now I need some advice for the next step. I've read that Hybrid is good for encoding to mp4 so I downloaded it and am ready to start.
Is there a guide for using Hybrid somewhere? I am looking for the necessary steps so that I (hopefully) get it right the first time. It appears there are a lot of options, some of which make sense to me and others that have me scratching my head. Just would like to have some guidance as to choosing the right options for creating mp4 files. I was hoping to find something like a step-by-step guide here, but couldn't locate one.
So...can anyone offer me some advice and perhaps a basic checklist for using Hybrid in this way?
Out of curiosity, is there other software I could use that isn't quite as daunting as Hybrid?
Many thanks!
