I have been successfully capturing from my JVC S3910U to Diamond VC500. Today I added a Panasonic ES15. My wires on the back of the JVC is S-Video (out) and red and white (out), to S-Video In1 and red and white In1. Finally, from the ES15, I have S-Video Out (and red and white Out) to the VC500 capture device. I photographed it in the attachments.

When viewing the S-Video signal in VirtualDub2 (and also AmaRECtv) I get a black screen. I have it set to S-Video as the input in VirtualDub2. Not video from the JVC VCR, and as far as I can tell nothing from the ES15. I have turned ES15 on and off. Same with JVC. Not sure whether I need to press something on the ES15 remote? Is there something basic I am missing.

I opened the front flap of the ES15 and pressed the CH up button until I got to IN1 and I got the signal. All fixed now.

Sometimes it's nice to have easy fixes.

Note: For this unit, you need the remote, to access the menus.
