Hi
I would like to begin using Virtual Dub to capture my video. I downloaded the version from the guide on this website but when I click capture avi I receive the messages attached.
I can open an existing avi file ok but the program crashes when I try to capture.

Suggestions?
Thanks

What OS?
What exact version of VDub?
What is your choice of compression?
When EXACTLY does the crash occur?
Does your DxDiag reveal anything about the crashes?

S = Windows 7
VDub =1.9.11
What is your choice of compression? I am not sure what you mean?
When EXACTLY does the crash occur? When I click Capture AVI the messages that I attached to the original post pop up. Then when you click anything, Vdub closes.
Does your DxDiag reveal anything about the crashes? Not sure what is DxDiag?

Just read a thread OP JoRodd from Feb 2018 with the exact same problem. The solution that worked for him was using a different version of Huffyuv. Do I need to install this as well before running Vdub to capture avi.
Go easy newbie here.
Thanks in advance.
