Greetings
Trying to capture some old VHS tapes using a barely used JVC HR-S3911U S-VHS deck.

Every tape that I put in it has an issue with snow across the complete screen for a few seconds every 2 mins or so. It lasts for a few seconds and then the picture is great. If I press FF the snow disappears.

If I use my other cheaper older JVC which has no S-video every tape plays great.

I have cleaned the heads but that made no difference.

I was wondering if anybody here knows of a fix for this issue.
Many Thanks

Dutchie

Clean the sync pulse head a.k.a stationary head situated to the right of the video drum.

Cleaned the sync pulse head but it did not improve the situation.

Check the ribbon cable that connects the head, Also it could be bad pinch roller lifting the tape or a misaligned head.
