Another day, another problem

I recently noticed that in the background, there is some unnecessary background noise.

It looks like it isn't apart of the actual VCR.

I think this is a S-VIDEO cable problem or interference issue - If not, can someone explain this odd problem?

Screenshots / Videos provided are examples from two different capture devices

- ION VIDEO MKII (PNG/MP4)

Don't judge by the menu, play an actual tape contents, Most VCRs exhibit dot crawl in the menu or in the blue screen in the absence of a video signal.

Here is a clip from a VCR that shows the issue even more. Not much dot crawl, but it is still visible.

I didn't use a TBC on this because I wanted to keep the signal original, and not have it passthrough a DVD recorder.

Edit: Yes, this is from a composite clip, but this happens on S-VIDEO too, its just a little more faint.

I don't see dot crawl in the video. Unfortunately, that's the quality of your tape, VCR and capture device or a combination of them, You can replace each one and see which one is the culprit, But overall and besides the interlacing effects and line timing errors, that's how analog video should look like.

I wouldn't call it delusional, but you are expecting too much from an obsolete video tape format, Get the line timing fixed and do a proper de-interlacing, it should look better.

Haha, that delusional part was just kind of a joke. You are definitely right, I am expecting too much from too little.

Line timing, yes I will work on thank you for the recommendation

That was just pre-processed footage. I do definitely de-interlace later.

Even though its just a standard analog signal, I zoomed in more of what I was talking crazy about.

But, thanks for the help either way
