Hi,
I am trying to convert my old family VHS tapes to digital but don't have money to spend on good gear like a super vhs player.
What I currently have is
Panasonic PV-V4622(no-svideo).
Elgato hd60 pro internal capture card
soundbeast rca to hdmi converter
and I just ordered the es-15 on ebay, didn't get it yet.
I tested a couple video without the TBC thing yet and it looked over saturated and blurry. Also I was sometimes getting purple discoloration on the top of screen.
I also have a elgato video capture device im used on my comcorder footage, just video 8 to device to usb and that looked alot better.
I have a few questions.
1.) When I get the es15 can I go vcr RCA to -> ES15-> and then use s video cable from the tbc to the upscaler? (I don't want to use upscaler but its the only way I can get it to my capture card)
2.) Is there any better hdmi converter to get image to my capture card?
3.) If I somehow got my hands on a VHS player would It greatly imporve the quality even If I use the same bad process?
I know the way I'm converting is bad but just using the stuff I had, I can return the soundbeast converter wihtin 2 weeks.
Thanks,
