Hi I need help with troubleshooting audio capture problems with an AIW 9600 Pro and Turtle Beach sound card. I have a video source connected to the purple AIW breakout cable with component connection yellow/red/white. I have an internal cable connecting the output of the AIW card to the AUX connector on the Turtle Beach card. AUX is the selected input in the Turtle Beach control panel.

Configuration-1
Capture Device: 1 Santa Cruz(tm)
Audio input: Aux
Result: No audio capture. Also the volume meter does not register anything and if I enable audio playback I don't hear anything through the PC speakers. From what I have seen in the forums, I thought this was the correct configuration for my setup.

Configuration-2
Capture device: 0 Capture device
Enable audio playback: No
Volume meter registers audio. When capturing starts, the volume meter stops moving, but I hear audio through the PC speakers. No audio is captured into the AVI file

Configuration-3
Capture device: 0 Capture device
Enable audio playback: Yes
Volume meter registers audio. Volume meter keeps registering audio during capture and audio can be heard through PC speakers. Audio is captured to the AVI file, but frame drops are really bad. This is the only combination that captures audio.

I've made up those aux cables before, but there's really no advantage over just feeding your audio to the line in of the sound card directly via a basic RCA to headphone style 3.5mm stereo plug. I'd say give that a try first and see if it resolves the problem.

So bypass the AIW completely and connect the camera/vcr output directly to the sound card line in?

Just tested with a different audio source going to line in on the Turtle Beach with capture set to TB Line In and that worked exactly as expected so I will get an RCA to 3.5mm adapter. Thanks for the help.
