The title had a character limit so it's a little wonky.
Some of the later model DPS systems (e.g. DPS-470, DPS-475, DPS-575, DPS x75) had no front buttons and were controlled by a CCS, CCS stands for Command Control System (a GUI.) It seems the x75 allows for more options for control software than just Pilot.
The units without front buttons are useless without the Control Software, I have found the Firmware on one place on the internet, and it was removed in the past, the uploader re-uploaded it. I have archived it and will also attach the zip to this post for posterity/archival purposes.
I hope we can find a copy of this .exe if we put the call out there, or else a bunch of useful TBC's will become expensive paperweights.
These aren't perfect TBC's, Broadcast TBC's expect a high quality signal to begin with so they're not great for most consumer tapes, unless it's filtered through some sort of adequate line TBC first. I'm more interested in it for the SDI workflow.
I also attached a PDF describing some of the functions of CCS-Pilot.
Thanks guys. Can't wait to hear back.

Update: Seems you can control it with a DPS-RC575. Still a very expensive solution, would love to find the software.

Hi everyone,
I recently acquired a Leitch DPS-575 LC (the version without front panel controls) and wanted to share how I successfully got it up and running, in case it helps others in a similar situation.
RS-232 Serial Access:
I connected the unit to my Windows 11 laptop using a FTDI-based USB-to-RS232 adapter and a straight-through serial cable. Communication was simple—set your terminal (like PuTTY or Tera Term) to 115200 8N1, and you’ll see boot messages during startup.
However, although the unit sends boot logs, in my case it does not accept any commands via serial. So RS232 seems to be for diagnostics and firmware updates only—not remote control.
No Ethernet Activity Initially
Initially, the RJ45 Ethernet port appeared completely dead. Tested with a crossover Ethernet cable and USB-to-Ethernet adapter that has activity LEDs—no lights at all. I assumed the Ethernet interface was either faulty or disabled.
Firmware Update – The Game Changer
Thanks to this forum, I found the Uploader v1.5b software (in this post) and the G2.16 firmware. I ran the Uploader directly on Windows 11 (no VM!), using the FTDI RS232 cable.
To my surprise, after flashing the new firmware:
The Ethernet port LEDs in my USB adapter started flashing!
The device began responding to link negotiation.
Finding the IP Address:
Using a crossover Ethernet cable, I connected the unit directly to my PC and scanned the 10.0.x.x subnet until I found the correct IP.
Once I located the IP, I was able to open the web control interface in my browser. It provides full access to all configuration parameters—all parameters via the front panel on full versions available!
Final Notes:
No need for Leitch Pilot software
No need for the RC-575 remote panel
Full control is possible via web browser once the firmware is updated and the IP is known
Required tools:
RS232 FTDI adapter
Uploader v1.5b (from this post)
G2.16 firmware (from this forum)
Crossover Ethernet cable
Some patience while scanning IPs
Thanks to everyone on this forum for preserving and sharing the software and firmware. You made this possible!

Hi. Thanks for all this great info. We have a DPS575 with the front control panel, but also recently got one off of ebay that does not have it, so this is really helpful. It looks like the following links in your post are no longer hot:
Uploader v1.5b (from this post)
G2.16 firmware (from this forum)
Could you supply those links? And would you be willing to provide more info on the RS232 FTDI adapter and the Crossover Ethernet cable you are using? This will be a little uncharted territory for me.
Many thanks

This is pretty much the case for any device from 2000's and 2010's, I went through the same experience with the S&W device I have, was looking for a software for a while then decided to go ethernet, at first I was looking for a cross-cable as suggested by the device's manual until a bright member here told me that modern computers can run straight through cables fine, then found out that I needed XP to be able to communicate with the machine, a VM solved that for me, Once connected to the IP address all control pages were accessible.
I later learned that the software is really for multiple machine control via ethernet from a remote location or studio and not needed for single device control, this is the case for any device from the era.

While I'm not 100%, I believe those are both a part of the initial zip file I posted in the first post. I think that should get you going, It's also mirrored on archive.org last I checked.
