I couldn't seem to find any other complete sets anywhere online aside from 1 other used one on eBay, only people selling the device itself or with the antenna and they didn't know if it was working or not.

Then I came across a listing that had the wrong title "ATI 650 graphics card" or something along those lines but the listing pictures were of 2 boxes of of an ATI 600 USB2.0 at $99 each, so I messaged the seller to ask if it was the 650 or 600 and he said it was what was in the pictures. So I offered $85 and he accepted.

Then I happened to check his seller profile as it only had 2 reviews but had been opened since 2019. He had a bunch of sketchy listing (not illegal or anything, just very suspicious because it was a TON of random items, a lot that seemed to be marked as "brand new/unopened" and for not a lot of money. The shipping prices were really odd as well, with a lot of them being exactly $6.66 or around that price.

So that put a knot in my stomach and I was about to hit cancel on my order the next day, but then I received a message saying he was on his way to USPS, then he sent me an actual picture of the receipt with the tracking number and sender location, etc. At this point I was thinking, wow, this is such an elaborate scheme, I know some scammers sometimes create a shipping label just to pretend like it's official but never actually send anything, but this guy actually went in person to actually ship "something" real. So I went back to look at his listing to see if there was some wording saying it was just the box only or something, but didn't see anything fishy. So I thought I'd just wait and see what shows up.

I actually had another user send me a PM asking for the seller to buy the other one, but I told them how I thought it was a scam and didn't want to subject them to it as well if it was, so I told them I'd wait until after I get it in the mail today.

Well, the package arrived today and to my surprise. It was EXACTLY what the listing said it was...an unopened ATI 600 HD USB2.0! I don't recognize the "seal" sticker though, so not sure if it's from some store, or if the seller added the sticker.

I'm not even sure what to do with this, I feel like I just found some magical treasure and that I'd be wasting it by opening it up!

I checked the other listing the seller put up and saw the noticed it was something of value so he listed the other one at $160 this time.

Pretty rare.
I actually saw one last year unopened but because I have three Tevion clones I couldn’t justify buying it.
As long as it fires up good for you!

Should I just hold onto this one and try to find another one that's used to actually use it?

Not rare.
- In the 2020s, just uncommon.
- In the 2010s, not even uncommon.

ATI produced a boatload of these cards -- which has been great for all of us users.

MSRP on these was $100+ (100-150 range) back around 2005, just before the AMD buyout of ATI. Pricing often still hovers in that MSRP range, though now used+inflation.

Fun fact: In 2009, AMD dumped their stock onto Woot (before Amazon bought and ruined it). The cards were clearanced at $24.99 (+shipping?). Also, back then, no tax! I bought one for myself. In the mid 2010s, and probably for that "fire sale" reason, ATI 600 USB prices could sometimes still be found in the $25-40 range (plus tax, plus shipping). Often new, often boxed. I came across a stash for sale, bought it, and sold them here to members for $50 each (ie, no meaningful profit, after all expenses). Ah, those were the days!
