I wasn't really talking about crossover, although I am glad you mentioned that, I was meaning just going composite from jvc to 8710 to vidicraft to dvd, think they all have composite and wondered if the lower class composite video signal enhanced with the vidicraft would be any better than s-video and no vidicraft?

Thought maybe this had been tried or maybe a rule of thumb.

Composite straight through would be a good idea, too. Yes, that is what I tend to suggest most -- s-video straight, composite straight, and crossover last.
