I have over 2500 ft of old 8mm and super 8mm film that I want to digitalize with a commercial service.

There was a great deal of discussion about this a few years ago in the posted fac:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vide...8mm-super.html

Is there any update on the processes available or where I should go to get this material for transfered.

That older thread is still accurate info.

In fact, a "sticky" (FAQ) was created here: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vide...-film-dvd.html
That was added last year.

The companies mentioned in those two threads are who you should use (or NOT use), for the reasons mentioned. Virtually nothing has changed on film-to-digital methods in the past 5 years, and it's unlikely to change anytime soon. What was a good process in the late 2000s is still a good process in the 2010s. What truly matters the most is the cleaning and handling, as opposed to any involved technology doodads or gizmos.
