I'm planning on transferring some VHS, and VHS-C tapes to a computer. I read about the ATI All in Wonder capture cards, especially the ATI 600 USB. The thing is non exist, hard find. I read on otter forums some users are using the Happauge Colossus or other USB capture cards variates. I understand the workflow of capturing VHS is to DV-AVI--> MPEG 2 using Virtual dub. Is there a list of capture cards that work with Virtual dub?

Hauppage cards are not as good a choice as ATI cards. It's not unavailable, unless you're looking for new stuff in stores. But here's the thing: the best analog-to-digital video hardware was sold from 2002 to about 2009. It heavily dwindled from 2006 to 2009. So you need to buy used.
There are plenty of ATI cards on eBay and Amazon.
Sometimes, you'll find them in our marketplace forums, too.

Over the this past weekend I got the Happauge USB-live2. It does work with Virtual dub ver. 1.9.11. I can capture in Huffyuv(AVI). My next step is finding a program to encode the AVI to MPEG-2 for DVD. Is their an updated guide on which programs to use?

You just need an MPEG encoder.
For example -- Avidemux (freeware), TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 ($37), or MainConcept Reference ($$$ professional software)
As far as guides: http://www.digitalFAQ.com/guides/video.htm and more are in the forum. If anyone needs any specific help, ask.
