Mac can be a difficult platform for lots of video tasks. Essentially anything not directly related to authoring in DVD Studio Pro or editing in Final Cut Pro is out of bounds, not part of its special workflow. Hardware is scarce, and software is minimal to non-existent. Great system, but often the wrong tool for video work.

I see several "guides" via Google, though I'm dubious of many. (Ad spam, mostly.)

I've never come across this for Mac. Even in Windows, the platform of video, this was not common.

Hi, thanks for reply. I've found a solution that worked great under Mac: MacCaption from Telestream, Pro Edition. Price is mental by the way.

Ah! Yeah, I'd forgotten about Telestream software. I didn't know it had that, but probably should have guessed it did.

Yeah, "only" $1k. Mental indeed!
