If I capture VHS through a Matrox MX02 in lossless what file size will I expect per hour?

I was capturing video with a Advc 55 but the quality was lacking.

Would I be better off using a Matrox MX02 capturing to lossless or my ATI 650 usb with the Catalyst software using the Best setting which I assume is Mpeg 2 broadcast?

At 720x480 with huiffyuv YUY2 lossless compression, about 30GB per hour.

With high-bitrate MPEG2 expect about 8GB per hour. But if you plan on any restoration or fancy edits, you're shooting yourself in the foot. It will look cleaner than DV, but neither format is deigned for restoration.
