So I have a Hi8 camera that was working fine until I put a cassette in the player. I think the cassette was dirty. Now when I play tapes it doesn't show anything, and is also switching into the LP mode , though none of the tapes I have are LP. When I rewind, it becomes black and white.

Here are the photos I took (Sorry for low quality, I used my phone camera on the viewfinder):

Now, how should I clean the heads? I've been told that cleaning tapes just spread the dirt, q-tips scratch the head, and chamois swabs can break the heads. What should I do? I haven't touched the heads at all. The only thing I've done is just played tapes on it.

And it was working before, I recorded almost 1h 40m of footage before it got "dirty":
