Hello,

I am just starting to capture some tapes. I have a tape where there is a long gap between video segments. I actually stopped the capture at a little over the 1 hour mark because I thought that was it. I found out there is a long gap with blue screen of many minutes until there is more footage I would like to capture. Capturing using Huffuv lossless avi with virtualdub. I haven't done video editing, so not sure what would be easier once I'm done with capture.

Which is better in terms of retaining peak quality:

1) capture the rest of the tape on a second file and use some kind of software to edit the two huffuv files into one lossless avi?
2) recapture from the beginning, then edit out the long blue screen by cutting it.

Thanks

Just capture the remaining of the tape and use vdub2, append the 2 segments, do your trimming and output without any loss of quality, assuming you are capturing lossless AVI files.
