Hello everyone! I would like to know how important is the built-in TBC of the Panasonic AG-1980T. Should it be used all the time or sparingly with more damaged tapes? If a tape looks good without it do I still need to use it?

IMO every tape will not benefit but many if not most will. Try both ways and see which is better. However, if the AG-1980 has not been recapped all bets are off as to whether or not the TBC will help.

The VCR does have other issues and I think it does need to be recapped. I'm going to be contacting T-grant about that soon. Thank you very much.
