Hi everyone.
My name is Javier, I live in California, but I'm planning in going back to Europe to visit my parents and help them digitize some of their old vhs tapes (weddings and other stuff). Back home I have a Panasonic NV-HS950 that has TBC and DNR, another vhs Samsung SV-251X, I also have a "Hauppauge 610 USB-Live 2" and a "Elgato Video Capture USB".

After reading this forum, I assume I would need minimum an external TBC, right? and perhaps a better usb capture like the ATI 600. They have a laptop with windows 10 in it.

Do you guys think just getting an external TBC should do the work for me? Do anybody here has one for sell? lol PM me

Win10 was never great for video capture, and updates have further crippled it. So while the ATI 600 USB is great, it's an effected card. Some folks can find a workaround (alter permissions settings, etc), while others had their cards permanently uninstalled by a Win10 update. The 600 clones install better for Win8/10, because the generic drives are officially supported (at least for the moment, that could always change).

WinXP and Win7 are the best OS for capturing. Least issues, most support.
