I'm ready to spend some time every week on the project I mentioned here.

My goal is to digitize and preserve my family VHS tapes in the best possible quality.

I have the following equipment:
  • JVC SR-V10 A+
  • Composite TBC (I also was able to buy a TBC-1000 off of eBay.)
  • ATI 600 USB
  • Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
  • An older Windows 7 PC — can be dedicated to the project
  • A newer Windows 10 PC
Now the question is, where do I start?

Can someone kindly point me in the direction of the best threads / articles / resources at DigitalFAQ to begin to understand how to work on this project?

I will document my progress as I go along in this thread.

Thank you,

Step 1 is hooking up the gear. Not just plugging in, but getting it properly stacked and situated. Preferably on a desk, never on the floor. Are you that far yet?
