I've been at webhostingtalk.com (WHT) for about 7 years now, and there's several hosts that have been there most of time:
Those are all providers that were there on day one (for me), back in February 2006.
There are more, like
Hostgator, that were around, but are no longer really reputable providers. That happens. Some providers simply fail or falter over time, and I've seen a lot of that too.
Any of those hosts are fine, and some of them we use currently for The Digital FAQ, its projects, and clients. We've used
EuroVPS non-stop since June 2006, so almost 7 years. That's rare for a person to use the same host that long, so they're doing something right! Stablehost has been our second host for almost 4 years. We have multiple plans with both of them.
Most hosts there are fly-by-night, new, etc -- these are all at least 7 years old, with a stellar track record.
Hope that helps.
