It depends on the problem.
The ES10 is mostly for tearing. It processes more than the bare frame sync TBC, and can add artifacts as a result. The ES10 posterizes, varying dependent on source, and the NR can add even more. The ES10 is best for situations where the net result is improved capture. In general, for non-tearing/timing issues, the AVT-8710 would be best.
But it also depends on workflow. This assumes a
quality VCR is in use. When a plain VHS VCR is in use, the ES10 will give the best net result.
The ES10 is best followed by TBC/8710, to ensure signal stability. The ES10 is mostly for cleaning the image only.
