Kwag,please:

i talk about this in other thread but don't remember where is it...

then ask again:
my player plays svcd and kvcd lbr(352x240) very fine....
kvcd with 140 minutes in 1 cd play perfect!

what template can i use to test ?
encode as mpeg1 or mpeg2?
and burn as vcd or svcd?

thanks in advance!

Try the SKVCD, which is MPEG-2, and burn as SVCD. You can also try KVCDx3 MPEG-2, and also burn as SVCD. See if that plays. But you'll get the best quality with KVCDx3 MPEG-1 for sure

Ok, I tried usinf kvcdx3 mpeg1, but is it suppose to be really squarish in terms of aspect ratio when viewed on media player?

is it really 528x480? or this is only when encoding but when viewwing it will go back to normal aspect ration. Or maybe Im doing something wrong...[/code]

WMP wont give you the correct aspect, use windvd or powerdvd to play on pc. When played in standalone it should look correct

It depends on the decompressor. If you install the Ligos MPEG decoder WMP will resize to the correct aspect ratio just like WinDVD and PowerDVD.

Kwag,

i encode (29fps) and burn (as svcd)
a skvcd with one chapter(6 minutes) for test.
(new template,new gop,etc)

playing the mpeg or the cd in pc i see some interlaces problems.

playing the cd in my player the image freezes every second
and sometimes with strong blocks.
some inerlaces problems too.
if i use the pause the image is ok.
sound is good.

some more help?

Try WinDVD...it gives me a better reproduction of kvcd produced vids
than either wimp or PowerDVD.
More true to what I`ll see on tv, usin` the "stand-alone" DVD player.

If you're encoding from FILM DVD, you encode at 23.976fps and use 3:2 pull down. The SKVCD template is already set that way. Don't encode at 29.97fps unless your source is 29.97fps interlaced material.
