Please make a test. After you load your source in TMPEG, go to "Source Range" and scroll all the way to the right. See if the time stamp matches the time of your captured video

i looked at it and the time is correct. i'm clueless. i'll retry with the newer version of cqmatic just in case. i also have the latest tmpgenc (2.59 now).

Hi doctor robert,

Get rid of TMPEG 2.59
It has bugs on generated file size. Get any version before of after that one.

Hi Kwag and others..

About that Exit error.. I'm having the same problem too !!

The crash only happens when I click on the [Exit] button, but when the
[X] buttom is clicked, the app closes down w/ out a hitch of trouble
So, there is def. something amiss in the Exit's close procedure

By the way, this same error message happend on my Windows NT at work.

pfew!! I'm back from my park adventure

..off topic..
FWIW, I had planed to take an hour's worth of footage, and then run it
through CQM for a CAM test run.. Well, my brand new TRV22's battery life
started out w/ 180min... 38 minutes later, the battery decided to show
signs of slow death.. it broadcasted battery failure message
I knew I should have brought my Red battery pack Anyways..

That was my adventure for today.

A new battery needs 3-4 full cycles before reaching its full capability.

Calcumatic 1.0.3 released
http://www.kvcd.net/CalcuMatic.exe

Guess what you can do now

Changes:
Added 1 to 10 Video streams
Added 1 to 10 Video streams

Why, you may ask
Simple
Example #1:
Say you want to put three 45 minute episodes on a single 80 minute CD-R.
Normally, you would have to calculate the video size and audio bitrate for each. Not any more
Select movie time of 45 minutes. Select one Media of 80 minutes, Then select 1 Audio stream and 3 Video streams (3 episodes), and VOILA You segment is calculated

That means that each 45 minute segment, which has one audio track, must target a video size of 235,266KB

Example #2:
Want to put four ~120 minute movies (Half D-1) on one DVD-R, with 2 audio channels each?, easy
Select movie time of 120 minutes. Select 2 Audio streams and 4 Video streams (4 movies)

And there's your target video size ( 899,200KB ) and audio ( 201,600KB ) for each movie.

Use your imagination

Hi Kwag..

..some domb questions here..

To see if I understand this correctly...
* I got Five 60 min TV shows of ST Enterprise (5 episodes) and what I have
* Each 60 min show has it's own Audio
* So, that means I would adjust the following for calcumatic with:

> Target: [4.7GB DVD]
> Video Streams: [5]
> Audio Streams: [5]

Which would give me: ABitrate = 1397.0 Kbps
and (0.57 * ABitrate) = 796.3 Kbps
w/ VS = 628640 KB and
w/ AS = 252000 KB

Am I reading you correctly so far ??

hi doctorRobert..

If HD space is not an issue, how about an uncompressed capture ??
If so, see how that fairs w/ CQM results

w/ my given system setup, and my Osprey-210 capture card, I can capture
w/ out frame drops on my 2nd pc w/ excellent results.. But currently, I use
my ADVC-100 for the majority of projects.

Just wondering if I have missed something. I thought the .57*ave bitrate was to determine the Min in Tmpgenc. At the start of this thread the diagram shows the calculated value as the one used for the CQ calc. Is this correct?

Cheers

You haven't missed a thing
The field that displays "0.57 * Average", is the value to be used as MIN bitrate.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong Kwag. I'm on Tmpgenc 2.511 and was OK on earlier version of CQM 1.07. Now with latest, I get Tmpgenc flashing on and off quickly until CQM stops at CQ 89? I've re-set the range settings and ensured no file overwrite. Any ideas?

OK Got it working again for script with .d2v input . My problem is using .avi sources. If I use a script with AviSource() with the source file being a PicVideo compressed .avi, I cannot get CQM to work properly.

However the script inputs nicely into Tmpgenc which will encode it fine for a fixed CQ.

Is this the same type of prob I noticed earlier for Huffy codec?

New feature: Added "Source" button to open .d2v files. Will automatically set minutes and seconds of movie.

Can't see the "Source" button!!

Will the values calculated in CalcuMatic be passed back to CQMatic?
