Btw the way I'm using the kvcd plugin, I've been told that the quality degrades when converting into avi so better I do it from .mpg[/IMG]

No it do not degrade if you use a lossless codec : huffyuy.

And that is the better way to do in your case.

so is there a way to use dvd2svcd(with dvd2kvcd plugin) to turn regular kvcd/svcd-->kvcd ?

d2s should allow mpg > kvcd conversions! would come in handy on some occasions!

Not really as D2S fails almost everytime in the file size prediction. But you already know that

Yes, you can if you have updated avisynth to 2.5.3.
The directshowsource support is now well done and prediction is possible even with mpeg1 video.
