Has anyone used GB-PVR

I'm interested in this software. And if you have some experience
with GB-PVR are you able to burn recorded movies, shows, etc. to
an onboard DVD burner

Hi BP,

I think I tried it once, about a year ago, and it crashed everywhere.
Mostly because it's a .Net application.
But who knows!, maybe it works better now
However, it's not even close to MythTV (KnoppMyth)

I cannot speak for MythTv but GB-PVR is an awesome program. I have been using it as a PVR with a Hauppauge PVR-150 and a MediaMVP (picked up 2 of these at Radio Shack on clearance for $39 each) and have had zero problems. It has come a long way in the past year. GB-PVR produces standard mpeg-2 program streams which can be used to author DVD's. Here is a good place to start:

BTW, how stable is it now
Because a friend of mine, once installed it, and it also crashed after about 5 days of use.
This was about 8 months ago.

GB-PVR has really made leaps and bounds recently. I have been running it as a MediaMVP server for a few months now without any problems from my HTPC to my bedroom TV. The HTPC has XP SP2, a Hauppauge PVR-150, an ATI HDTVWonder, Radeon 9800 Pro, 512Mb ram, 2.4 P4 HT, a WD Raptor 13Gb 10,000 rpm serial drive (OS) and a Maxtor 250Gb 7200 rpm parallel drive (capture). It drives an Epson PowerLite 71C XGA LCD projector. The computer is used exclusively for HTPC and maybe that is why I have had such great success. I really love GB-PVR and highly recommend it.

I have been testing this software with the developer since the beginning and it has become a very usable piece of software. Well worth checking out.
