Hi

I've ripped my movie ok using Smart Ripper > DVD2AVI > TMPGEnc (I don't use the avisynth thingy you mention in most of your posts)

The movie is in English (I am English) but in certain sections of the movie it requires English subtitles and i don't understand how to add these. I've read a million posts on subtitles 'how to' but they all seem to refer to adding full subtitles through the whole movie which isn't what i want and they also say about the .srt (Subtitle file) and i can't even see these in the folder which holds my Vobs, this is what i have:
amistad AC3 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps 48KHz.wav
amistad.d2v
vts_02_0.ifo
vts_02_1.vob
vts_02_2.vob
vts_02_3.vob
vts_02_4.vob
vts_02_INFO.txt

I can rip using the above method with little or no problem but when it comes to incorparting other programms i'm pretty useless.

Please could some one help me with this as it's driving me NUTS and please could you keep your explanations 'simple' (like idiot proof)

Many Thanks in Advance

Debbie

Hi,

First: what is your target ? A KVCD or a KDVD ?

Things won't be easy if you are doing a KVCD as you will need to use an avisynth script to include the subtitles, thus more things to learn.

Just download Avisynth,VobSub and PARanoia.
Put VSFilter inside the Avisynth plugins directory which should be somewhere around c:\program files\avisynth\plugins.
Now run PARanoia and load your d2v project in it.
With the help of PARanoia you will get a resizing script.
If you have questions regarding that just try this flash tutor.
Watch out! Since you are aiming for Ksvcd you will want to select "Anamorph to Non Anamorph" option!
Or ask again or maybe try FitCD instead, I made a small Tutor about FitCD that you can find here.
Now you want to add your subs to your movie so you want to add a line in your script right after the end of the script that will show up like:
Code:
Vobsub("x:\location\to\your\sub")
Now before you have the sub itself you gotta extract it from the original movie using something like SubRip.
This is pretty intermediate stuff while this forum is for advanced conversion.
But I am willing to help you further should this not suffice.
Still need help?
