Does anyone remember seeing any background menu image that is mainly orange with some kind of pinwheel-like swirl? I think there was also a purple version.

I can't remember which program it's from but I think it may have been an early ulead program version.

I don't have the old ulead programs anymore (like dvd workshop 1 and moviefactory 1-3) so I can't check myself...

That does sound like TDA, yes. But it could also be DVDWS2.
