I have Panasonic AG 5710 that is in complete working condition. It was recently serviced by Southern Advantage in June 2012 and has no issues. I haven't used it that much since. This machine is the professional version of the Panasonic AG 1980. I am interested in possibly selling or trading the machine. The machine I am interested in trading it for is the JVC HR S10000U. Any questions, just PM me.

FYI: the HR-S10000u is not a good deck for doing VHS transfer - it is too old and no TBC
the only value it really has is collector.

do you have a price on the 5710?

I've been curious about those HR-S10000u decks as well, I've noticed a *ton* of them have been popping up on eBay lately over the past 2-3 months and going for fairly high prices, although I've wondered if maybe it's just a couple of decks getting passed around after one owner finds it less than impressive for VHS to DVD work.

I'd defenitely like to pick one up just to play with if the price is right, but that seems like a major step down if you are trading.

Well, for dubbing VHS to DVD, I prefer JVC's, but this HR S10000U I want is mainly for looks. The HR S10000U has a 7000U/8000U mechanism inside it.

Yeah, it'd surely be fun to play with! I just wonder how easy it will to come across one in good working condition -- I wanna say they were originally released in 1989/1990.

The HR-S10000U doesn't have the fancy TBC, but it does look nice on a shelf. It came out before VCR build quality dropped so its got real metal construction, real wood trimmed panels, and tons of dials. It is also notable as being one of the only VHS VCRs that could do insert editing of audio on the Hi-Fi track.

I'd be interested in it -- what do you think a fair # is?
