Laptop now gone!
Anybody looking for a similar laptop should visit this eBay store:

He has refurb M6800 Dells starting at $500.
I've decided to let one of my capturing laptops go, essentially a portable studio.
Specs:
- 500gb SSHD (SSD-cache HDD)
- 17" matte IPS, calibrates well enough for capturing with proc amp
- i7 CPU
- 8gb RAM
- USB3 + eSATA
- Windows 7 Pro x64
The matte IPS calibrated display is the best aspect of this laptop. When doing video capture and later editing, you need to see what you're doing -- and accurately. Most laptops are a terrible idea for capturing, but this is an exception. MSRP on this was well over $1k.
Price only $525.
For another $75, you can add the ATI 600 USB. Then it's ready to use, just add your VCR/TBC (and I have a few of those as well, as per other threads, if you need one).
VirtualDub is already installed. The system is lean, tweaked to capturing.
