Hello,
Recently I had inserted a retail VHS tape into my VCR, thinking that what I saw on the VHS tape was dust, as I thought mold was fuzzier. However, I still am questioning my decision on inserting this tape into my VCR as I cannot decide if this is mold or dust. I've seen severe mold on VHS tapes but do not know how to check for signs of mold starting to form as my knowledge on mold on VHS tapes is pretty limited.

If this VHS tape DOES have mold, is it possible to save this VCR? What can I do in the future to recognize signs of mold?

Note: If you'd like I'll take better pictures, just detail what you want a picture of.
