I am just wondering which monster cables and going to be best for digitizing vhs.
I am looking at
an s-video av kit cable set
an s-video 400 cable
Some monster audio cables
I thought about either getting the av kit or the s-video 400 cable and the audio cables.

They are all buuilt to standard, just pick the shortest. Don't go over 3ft unless needed.

The standard being anything other than the super thin dollar store cables.

Monster Cable is 99.9% overpriced, overhyped, over promised marketing.

The reasons are discussed here: https://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vid...deo-cable.html

As stated, stick with the shortest cabled you can. And don't pay more than $5-10.

Overpriced 3 decades ago, not anymore. that's why obsolete brand cables are recommended now. This is the best time to stock on S-Video Monster cables, Get it while you can.

Do not buy Monster. Quality is very subpar, and the headers are often too fat.

I disagree, based on personal experience. Top quality cables, the best analog cables I've seen in the idustry.

Amazon has Monster s-video for $20 (expensive) for a 6-foot run. The headers are too fat and death grippy, and the cables are stiff. Quality cables are half that ($10), and crap cables are a quarter ($5)

I have an HDMI cable that’s like that. It works well but you can’t plug it I to some stuff because the ends are soo wide and it is tough to unplug and plug in. I could see it being rough on ports your pulling it in and out of. Also it’s super stiff. Most expensive HDMI I ever bought.

Anyways if you were going to buy new cables what would be your thought process?

I thought that bad cable choices might add grain to the video. I got this idea about monster cables from the guide.

These should be good but I haven't tried them.

Pearstone used to make some good cables but they seem to be out of production.
