After experimentation, I have captured VHS tapes. The AVI files have been dil/compressed to MP4 files. I am satisfied with the quality of them except for one item, the color needs helped.
Davinci Resolve was loaded up. I like the provided tools used for this purpose, and the files look good after color correction. I would like to continue to use this software for the color correction. Now the questions:
1. Could someone provide general recommendations on the export settings? I would like to end up with MP4 files.
2. While I have dil/compressed using Hybrid to MP4 files, is this the correct "starting point" if the plan is to continue with Davinci?
3. After all said and done, the plan is to share the files with family. None of them are technophiles (and to be honest, neither am I!) soooo is there a better selection between H.264 and H.265?
I have already showed you some of the cards I'm holding in my hand, but to reinforce it again, please use the KISS method.
Thanks for any help.
