#13 on the list is a JVC Prosumer grade vcr. Granted the pic was taken from somewhere else, I just think it's funny that the person who created the article, while looking for pictures to go with the person's status update, chose a picture of a good vcr instead of simply googling "old 1980's vcr" and going with whatever old vcr model comes up. Especially since it clearly says "Super VHS" right in the center of the pic.

Also, I know this particular model may not be the best, but still. Thought you guys might get a laugh from this.

Its a HR-S2900U, it might as well be a step above a run of the mill VCR. You know, I could use a laminating machine.

In the past few years, I just entirely avoid lists on sites. 99% of them are dumb. There was a joke some weeks ago that I heard -- and I think it was on Real Time with Bill Maher -- about where list will be in 10 years. There was aone about a visit to the doctor, and how he'd give you the top 10 reasons you'd die soon, or reasons you have some disease. Quite funny and sad at the same time.

At least the HR-S29xx VCRs were junk. It was a consumer VCR (not even prosumer), not much different than a regular JVC VHS consumer VCR. The transport, heads, etc, were all inferior. I don't believe it shared any parts with the SR-V101 or the HR-S9911. It record S-VHS, but that's it. It was a barbones unit -- no filters, no TBC, not even a flying erase head. It was a step down from the 36xx-38xx of years past.

Top X lists are a way to create more content without doing much work. Many sites use them in order to appear like they are active. They are literally filler. Something tells me its a tactic from one of those "SEO made easy" e-books or something.
