Sorry I just figured a DVR was the same as tivo....

Sorry I just figured a DVR was the same as tivo. All you need is an ethernet cable to hook up to the tivo to your computer and the online program they provide and you can start transferring files...

I haven't even thought of transferring a vhs tape to dvd in years. I've done all my transfers a while ago. They're good I suppose if you don't want to purchase tivo or some dvr service. However...

Unless you plan on dubbing vhs tapes I don't see the purpose of a dvd recorder. It would be much easier to record your shows on tivo and then transfer them over to you computer.

tmpgenc takes takes a year to convert something...

tmpgenc takes takes a year to convert something to anamorphic widescreen. Use a different program if you can. There should always be options for converting to 16:9
