Hello all! First time poster here with a good sized VCR issue. I got an Emerson VCR964N player from a friend to convert some VHS to digital. Problem I’ve run into is the tape guide. When I put the tape in, the guides come about half way up and stops, forcing the player to shut off. To eject, I’ve to push the guides back in place and it ejects fine.

Unpowered, I can’t move the guides at all. Everything is greased good and I dint see anything blocking the tracks. No teeth appear to be missing from any of the gears and belts look good. So I don’t know what’s holding everything back. Thanks!
