I bought a JVC HR-S9600.
Great machine but when playing a video it pauses automatically after ~10/20 minutes. It differs each time
No weird noises. When pressing play video continues as normal. Just to stop again at a random moment in time.
There are many mechanical and electronic errors that could cause this. One of my first inspections would be to see how touchy the PAUSE button is on the unit. Not "the button" from the outside, but under the faceplate.
It's kinda from Ebay. In the Netherlands we have Marktplaats (Marketplace) and it's about the only place where you can find these kind of VCR's. All other places like thriftstores are closed due to 'tha virus' so there isn't much option left.
Specialist in VCR repair/restorement are hard to find here if existent at all.
So yea, but I got it from an elderly couple for a great deal, around 80 bucks so no harm done there.
I figured, I would have it restored/repaired somehow anyway, I can pay for those repairs.
I've added some pictures of the device. But i'm not really sure what you mean. should I remove the soft button to see what is underneath?
