And not sure if it will work, even if I can get it loaded.

Just bought an old VCR. I took the seller's word for it that it was working, so didn't test it first. But when I got it home and tried it out, no luck. I wonder if anyone has any suggestions as to how I might fix it.

-When I plug it in, the capstan turns around for a few moments, then stops. It sounds laboured, but I'm not sure, maybe it's supposed to sound that way.

-When I push a tape in, though, nothing happens. I can push the tape in to the point that it is flush with the front opening on the machine, and then it gets stuck, and won't push in any further.

Does anyone have any idea?
