JVC BR-S605UB horrible tracking issue

Hail forum,

My JVC BR-S605UB is experiencing some awful tracking errors. Literally half or more of the screen is just a tracking error, and the video fades in and out on every tape I put through it. I already cleaned the heads with a chamois stick, and it's a sparkling clean machine to begin with.

Any ideas where I should start? I have an oscilloscope coming in by Wednesday...

Edit: I recorded onto a JVC cassette, and the recording it made suffered the same issue as the other tapes. However, a previously made recording on that JVC tape managed to play with nothing more than a tracking bar at the bottom of the screen, with slight jitter. I can also see the tape crinkling along the top as it travels through the tape path.

Also, if I hit rewind or fast-forward, the video comes in much more clearly.

Edit: I looked at the heads...This thing's going in the garbage bin in the morning. They're totally busted.
