I recently bought a Magnavox MDR867H/F7 and the remote that came with it will not work because it is set to RC3. So I bought a new replacement remote and it worked out of the box showing me RC1. However, all of a sudden it is showing RC3 now instead of RC1 like it did to begin with and it won't work with said DVD player/recorder. I've tried all the recommendations in the manual but nothing will return the remote to RC1. thank you.

I have no specific knowledge of your remote or VCR but perhaps when the batteries become discharged or removed, the unit automatically defaults to RC3. I would check the remote's battery terminals are clean for good battery connection, then insert fresh batteries. Then I'd reset to RC1 as per the manual and see what happens.

Hope this helps.
