I'm planning to give my JVC HR-S7600AM an overhaul, Mainly cleaning and lubrication but I will check belts and caps, anyone in the business can recommend any types of oil and grease Brand or Formulation that can be purchased here in the US, Also what is the best place to buy JVC vintage VCR parts? Thanks

This was the extent of my research last year. http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vcr-...cants-vcr.html
WD-40 is not recommended.

Don't replace the lube unless it's just totally screwed up, and causes the unit to seize up.

And yes, for the purpose of VCRs, WD40 would be insane. It's not grease, and it evaporates in a few months.

I looked at some JVC VCR service manuals and didn't see any mention for lubrication recommendation I will dig a little deeper and see what I can come up with.

I have been using Super Lube Synthetic Grease (safe for plastics and some rubbers) for sliding parts and Singer All-Purpose Machine Oil for spinning parts.
