As you can read I have an original JVC HR-S9850 EU which I bought many years ago as a end user. I have not being using my VCR in a long time to busy using my computer.
A good friend of mine is using an ION VCR to capture his VHS tapes onto his computer. Untill his cheap capture USB stick broke down. I gave him another cheap USB stick but he complained that everything he captured was in black and white.
Reading the manual from it it said the source needs to be S-VHS. So I gave him my JVC HR-S9850 EU. But the VCR will not transport the tape to the head after so many years. So I opened up the VCR to see what is happening.
This is the first time I am opening my VCR so I do not have a clue where to look for.
On the picture I have boxed in green the 2 transport rods(?) which I think should transport the tape to the head. In red I marked the string which I think should do the movement of the rods.
Am I correct?
What could be the trouble?
Did anybody have the same trouble after so many years of non working?
I have read that the JVC HR-S9911U is the American equivalent of my JVC HR-S9850 EU so I hope any users of the JVC HR-S9911U and/or JVC HR-S9850 can help me.
