Aloha Friends !
Just few questions, cuz I'm confused. I bought DataVideo TBC-1000 in US ( power supply 120v 60Hz) . I am from europe, exactly from Poland here we have 230v 50 Hz. I have opportunity to buy gear also in US.

What can I do in this sItuation ?

1. Can I get in EU some custom good quality power supply for 230v50Hz even if this TBC was made for 120V 60Hz ?

2. Or maybe i need at first transformer ? I know it changes voltages but what with the "Hz", also will change from 60hz to 50hz ? If yes which you recomend and where I can buy it ?

3. UPS - Which is the best for this gear ?

4. or maybe there is device ( UPS/transformer etc. ) all in one, which will solve my all problems ?

5. For now, from my knowledge I'm thinking about that option, that chain :
data video/ UPS 112V/ transformer (112V60Hz - 230V50Hz ) /

6. Last question, where I can find best quality capacitors for it ? ( I can show pics of my TBC inside )

THX !

It uses a standard 12 volt power adapter with a center-positive barrel jack connector that's used for a lot of things these days. The unit specifies it needs one with at least 1.2 ampere output though it doesn't hurt to get one with a bit more ampere capability. The unit runs on 12 volt DC output from that, as long as the power adapter does it's job it doesn't matter whether it comes from 120v 60hz or 230v 50hz initially.

Something like this would probably be ok if the connector size is correct:

12V 1.2A
Some units OEM'd with 800mA, but the same units always had issues later.
I'd not exceed 2A.

Don't use cheap Chinese crap. Only use name branded PSUs.
For example:
- APD (Asian Power Devices) WA-24E12/FU, 12V 2A, center-positive, 110-240V
- Phihong PSA18R-120P, 12V 1.5A, center-positive, 100-240V
- Ktec KSAS0241200200HU, 12V 2A, center-positive, 100-240V

- For sale in the marketplace: TBCs, workflows, capture cards, VCRs

Thx very much for the answers. Just few last questions and everything will be clear for me.

1. Do I need to buy some special capacitors dedicated to this corrector ?
2. Where i can find specs ?
3. Which brand has very good or best quality ?

Ofcourse I will looking for profesionalist in my area, or in bigger city, who will change capacitors. Just want to be sure before I start talking with him. I want to do everything in right way, cuz this TBC was my dream for many yrs and I really don't want to mess it up. Greetings !

I don't know if this has any effect on performance but I always avoid switched power supplies for analog devices, Switched power supplies use PWM to control voltage, meaning that they are only on and off power devices, the time being off and on which is called the duty cycle controls the voltage, I've heard that constant on and off weakens capacitors and create noise in the down stream signal path, filters used do not eliminate all of it. Though, they are small, lightweight, they accept a wide range of mains voltages.

Every time I get my hands on one of those good old bulky power supplies I keep it, I've always needed them later to replace those tiny crappy Chinese PWM power supplies.
